The Restoration examines how colonialism has changed the landscape from one of intrinsic value to one of instrumental value, from an ecological entity, to a resource that needed to be tamed, measured, scientised, and utilized.

Mike Ting is a Wellington based artist. His practice surrounds the research of power, colonialism and its effects on the body. Recent projects include Private Investigations at Meanwhile Gallery 2017 and was granted the Asia New Zealand Art Foundation Grant.
