play_station is pleased to announce a new performative exploration devised by Eliza Sanders as part of our ongoing performance series facilitated by Sara Cowdell and Jack Jenkins.

Eliza in Motion – E.Motion is a 4 hour dance improvisation and poetry installation. Dancer and choreographer Eliza Sanders will move non stop for 4 hours in response to a series of poetic provocations. Audience are invited, to watch, to ponder, to respond, to move and to come and go as they please.

Choreographer/dancer/teacher Eliza is the co-artistic director of House of Sand for whom she has choreographed three ensemble dance works, created and performed two award winning contemporary performance solos: an improvised duet with musician Brendan Anderson, and a solo dance work in collaboration with designer Glenn Ashworth.

Recently, she danced for 24 hours straight in all hOurs and performed as an actor in REVOLT. SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN by Alice Birch. Eliza has created numerous works for QL2 Dance, Footnote Dance Company - the second time in collaboration with James O’Hara and NZ School of Dance. Eliza has performed with The World of Wearable Art, Body Cartography, The Australian Dance Party, Battleground Productions, Java Dance Theatre and Little Dove Theatre Art. Eliza is a certified Counter-technique teacher and a passionate improviser and movement researcher.
