Max Speed
Max Fleury
24/03/22 - 23/04/22
A sitcom set designed by a home staging company; the biopic of an amateur astronomer–remade on an Ab Circle Pro; an exhibition of canvas prints; a Karen Carpenter tribute gig at the Breaker Bay community hall; a road trip to Cass. Max Speed is an exorcism; a place for rejected or unfulfilled ideas.
No. Dry. Toast.
Born from the fruits of trawling Newtown’s op shops, wandering the south coast of Te Whanganui-a-Tara with a silver digital camera from 2005, and work commissioned on Fiverr, Max Speed considers how the unsophisticated becomes discerning, and vice versa.
It isn’t where they belong but it’s where they ended up.
