Volunteer. It’s a word that begs to be torn apart, it feels distant and a-political in its sentiment.
On principal our spaces, projects and time deserve to be seen as work, as part of our lives, not just a thing on the side. Volunteering assumes working for free (most of the time) and that sucks, but we do it anyway because we believe in it. We believe in the value of creative expression, working collaboratively, and supporting spaces that provide a platform for artworks that would never been seen otherwise. So, we find ourselves as volunteers.
Back in 5 is a group exhibition created and curated by play_station’s community of volunteers.
