Inner//Play//Output is a performative exploration of Alec’s ongoing research in performance. Based on the principles of Boolean Algebra, this exploration uses the same logic systems that create binary code. The 3 rules, AND, NOT, OR, guide this experience away from intention based movement and exposes the viewer to performance that has a foundation in logical systems, and also allows room for the viewer to interpret independently.

Alec Katsourakis is a performer and choreographer from Melbourne, Australia and is currently in his third year at the New Zealand School of Dance. Alec’s research and practice is inspired by the work of Trisha Brown, Jo Lloyd and Alisdair Macindoe as well as exploring responsive improvisational performance in spaces external to the theatre.

Performance started at 6PM and went for an hour duration.
